Versa VRS-11 Road Shifter The Versa VRS-11 Road shifter is an STI-style (Shimano Total Integration) shifter designed specifically for the Shimano Alfine 11-speed internal hub. The VRS-11 integrates shifting and braking into a single lever that is mounted onto drop-style road handlebars. The VRS-11 shifter uses independent up/down shifters for smooth, precise shifting at any time - while pedaling, coasting, or even at a complete stop. It also offers compatibility with both caliper brakes and select disc brakes. So it is perfect for both commuters as well as fast road rides on very hilly terrain, club rides or event rides. In fact, bicycles equipped with the Shimano Alfine 11-speed hub and Versa shifter will have a WIDER gear range and FASTER shifting than nearly all other road and commuter bikes on the market -- BUT without any external derailleurs or chain tensioners. This enables Versa-equipped bikes to have a unique clean look, high efficiency, low weight and very low maintenance. |
